This may sound a bit complicated, but in fact it´s fairly easy to do, and in any case, clean-install is good for your vintage machine. Apple Store recognizes your OS and asks do you want to download older version of Logic – which is 10.5.1. If you want 10.5 instead of 10.7( I assume that you have Mojave?) you can upgrade to Big Sur temporarily and after that you can buy 10.7 from Apple Store. After that clean-install Mojave again and download Logic again from Apple Store. If you are new to DAWs there´s always a learning curve, and in that sense there´s no remarkable differences between the most popular DAWs. I´m an old man and I started in 90s, with Atari running Cubase. Logic has an unparallel deepness and richness that IMHO all the other music software that I´ve used lacks – and I can say that I´ve a lot of experience about different DAWs. As a long time DP user I can tell you that DP is simply inferior in comparison – but more than twice expensive! What OS you have? And why trial version?
